Art is in the Air

presented by
The Noank Historical Society

June 27, 2026

10 AM – 4 PM

Enjoy a self-guided walking tour through selected homes and gardens in Noank’s historic village. Along the way, many gardens will feature talented plein air artists capturing the beauty of the day in real time. A benefit for the Noank Historical Society.

$35 if purchased online prior to June 13
$40 onsite on the day of the tour

Stroll through the Village of Noank and experience the quaint charm of this once-thriving fishing and boatbuilding community. Amid the bustle of its maritime industries, a remarkable and little-known art colony quietly flourished here at the turn of the twentieth century.

Notable artists connected to the area include:

  • Henry Ward Ranger
  • Robert Brackman
  • Lars Thorsen
  • Reynolds Beal

This special tour celebrates the creative energy that once defined this hidden coastline — alongside the distinctive architecture inspired by sailors who returned eager to share the beauty and craftsmanship they encountered in distant ports around the world.

Come for the art, stay for the history, and experience the timeless charm of Noank.
